Hi all! I was asked to write a little article about my life on a motorcycle.
It started in 1963 when my boyfriend and his buddy came by and took my girlfriend and me for a ride. I don’t know if it qualified as a motorcycle or scooter, but we had fun.
Soon after he bought a real motorcycle and then a few years later after we were married, with kids, we had bought some dirt bikes and I started riding by myself.
For the next few years, we spent most of our weekends riding in the deserts of California. My husband, Dale had a bad accident, and we decided to give up the dirt bikes.
It wasn’t until the late 80’s that we started riding again, but this time, on the street. I don’t know how many bikes we had but couldn’t find a bike we liked, or a group of people we fit in with until we bought a 1997 Dyna. We love this bike, but it wasn’t big enough to go on long rides, so in late 2002 we bought a 2003 FLHT standard and joined HOG.
We are currently on our fourth Harley, a 2014 Road King. We love this bike and all of our friends we have made thru HOG. We wouldn’t trade them for anything.
Although many times I thought about having my own bike, I would rather sit on the bike and check out the scenery and take pictures, and leave the driving to Dale
